What's NewVillage of Brown Deer Comprehensive Plan Draft Chapters Available for ReviewDraft chapters of the Brown Deer Comprehensive Plan will be available on this website after they are reviewed and refined by the Village Plan Commission. This process is ongoing. Click here to see completed chapters in draft form. Please note that some images and data will continue to be updated as the chapters are refined. Each chapter incorporates findings from the public participation process along with data analysis, establishing conditions in Brown Deer in the larger social and economic context of Southeastern Wisconsin. They conclude with draft recommendation for Village policy and programs to meet stakeholders’ goals and objectives for Brown Deer’s future. Brown Deer Comprehensive PlanThe Village of Brown Deer began its comprehensive planning process in February 2008. Over the next 14 months, Village officials and staff will work with residents, businesspeople and employees to produce a plan to guide Brown Deer over the next 20 years. All communities in Wisconsin are required to adopt Comprehensive Plans by January 1, 2010 (What is Comprehensive Planning?). All zoning and development decisions must be consistent with the Plan. The Brown Deer Comprehensive Plan will combine rigorous data analysis, creative thinking and the expertise of Village stakeholders to produce a blueprint to achieving the community’s vision for its future.
